ABOUT US

ABOUT THE FIRM

Our founding member, Arthur J. Canter, CPA/PFS, CFP® began offering advisory services to clients of his CPA firm in early 1995 in response to almost 20 years of seeing clients get advice from firms who didn't always have the client's interest at heart. He formed Investment Advisory Professionals, LLC in 1998 with a now retired partner.  Mark D. Miclean CPA/PFS joined the firm in 2000 to offer our services to clients of his West Palm Beach, Florida, CPA firm. Our newest addition, Alexandra B. Demosthenes, CPA/PFS, CFP® joined us in 2010.

We manage over $230,000,000 for about 140 clients. We consult with them on many different facets of their financial life; but mostly regarding investment, tax, retirement and estate planning. We are honored to serve as trustee with or for our clients in many cases.

We offer management of personal accounts, retirement (company, IRAs), trust (living and testamentary), foundation, and many other types of accounts. We act as a fiduciary in all of our relationships. This means we only act in the best interest of our clients.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

I was fortunate to learn at a young age the value of hard work-I delivered newspapers in my apartment complex from age 7 to 13 and always had part-time jobs until I entered the work force upon finishing graduate school at age 20. My father passed away when I was 12 and my mother worked hard to make sure my brother and I could go to college. She remarried and I learned compassion and selflessness from my stepfather, who took on a household of boys at what was an advanced age for him.

I have also been fortunate to have worked my entire career in a community that has grown dramatically.  A community full of successful retirees and accomplished professionals enabled me to thrive as a professional myself.
